Modern Age prophecy

S6M2: Daniel 10

Daniel10:1-2 KJV, “In the third year of Cyrus king of Persia a thing was revealed unto Daniel, whose name was called Belteshazzar; and the thing was true, but the time appointed was long: and he understood the thing, and had understanding of the vision (Vision 490). In those days I Daniel was mourning three full weeks.” Daniel fasts in v10:3-4. That is at the end of the 70-year exile of Israel, 535 BC. Daniel 10-12 ushered in the end of the spiritual captivity of the church by the church-state system, the Holy Roman Empire, in MODERN history.

Daniel 10:5-6, “I lifted up mine eyes, and looked, and, behold, a man clothed in linen, whose loins were girded with pure gold of Uphaz: his body also was like the beryl, and his face as the appearance of lightning, and his eyes as flaming torches, and his arms and his feet like unto burnished brass, and the voice of his words like the voice of a multitude.

That is the same “man” shown in Daniel 8:15, where Daniel revealed that Vision 490 was about the Messiah. In Revelation 1:13-18, Jesus appears to John with the same description as here, and Daniel has the same reaction; John also fell like a “dead man.” We are seeing the pre-incarnate Jesus. Daniel’s response to him in v10:7-9 is interesting, but we will stick to the prophecy here.

We looked at Jeremiah 29:11 in chapter 8, (I have a plan for you); I want to highlight Jeremiah 29:12-14 to get a picture of the grace and love of our Abba Father after punishing Israel. “And ye shall call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart. And I will be found of you, saith Yahweh, and I will turn again your captivity, and I will gather you from all the nations, and from all the places whither I have driven you, saith Yahweh; and I will bring you again unto the place whence I caused you to be carried away captive.

We need to understand that only a few Jews returned. Most stayed in the life they formed in exile, still not obeying (loving) our Abba Father. That is ELB, a life anchored to our circumstances in this life. Israel did not know the whole story, but we now know everything from history except the exact end time. And we continue to live in ELB. We are not returning to spirit Israel with our Abba Father, even when born again into it. And we continue to miss out on what this life could be. By the end of the book, you should be there. If not, just reread it with more prayer.

Daniel 10:10-12, Gabriel is back, “And, behold, a hand touched me . . .And he said unto me, O Daniel, thou man greatly beloved, understand the words that I speak unto thee, and stand upright; for unto thee am I now sent . . . Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel; for from the first day that thou didst set thy heart to understand, and to humble thyself before thy God, thy words were heard: and I am come for thy words’ sake” (answer to your prayer). That is quite an expression of our Abba Father’s love of Daniel. It is available to us when we love our Abba Father. Please pray on that.

Daniel 10:13, “But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days; but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me: and I remained there with the kings of Persia.

We know Darius and Cyrus were the human kings of Persia. The spirit king of Persia, the “prince of Persia,” is a “bene elohiym,” a “spirit being” that is discussed in S3M4. We see the prince of Greece below, another “bene elohiym.” I leave it to Chapter 4 to explain Gabriel and Michael and the “bene elohiym” integral to bringing the spirit world to life. The spirit “prince of Persia” works with the enemy to thwart our Abba Father’s plans.

The supernatural spirit world is deeply involved in our lives, and the enemy is trying to stop the restoration of the spirit Israel in heaven and the church. We must embrace the duality of heaven and earth to build our faith. If we look at the turmoil related to the 79 years it took to get from Cyrus’ decree to build the temple to the order to restore Jerusalem; we see the enemy at work. The enemy caused that delay.

Daniel 10:14, “Now I am come to make thee understand what shall befall thy people in the latter days; for the vision (Vision 2300) is yet for many days.” We are back to Vision 2300.

Daniel 11:15-19 are an encounter with pre-incarnate Jesus. Daniel calls him his “Lord” (Adonai), which is interesting, but that is all Daniel knows about him. A few translations say “sir” or “master” consistent with Adonai and the oldest three capitalize “Lord,” which would be appropriate for our eyes as well.

Daniel 10:20-21, “Then said he (Gabriel), Knowest thou wherefore I am come unto thee? and now will I return to fight with the prince of Persia: and when I go forth, lo, the prince of Greece shall come. But I will tell thee that which is inscribed in the writing of truth: and there is none that holdeth with me against these, but Michael your prince.

Note:

Chapters 10-12 all go together. Gabriel is back to explain Vision 2300, so we will pick it up in chapter 11 next. But let’s review the timed visions. All take place within the Vision 2300 starting in 457 BC. Vision 490 brings us to Jesus and 34 AD. Vision 490 and Vision 2300 began in 457 BC. The 1260-year “times” vision starts in 538 AD and brings us to 1798. Vision 2300 ended in 1844 when Jesus restored the heavenly sanctuary and went to work. Daniel’s visions explain the things that need to occur before Jesus returns. The beginning of the “time of the end” is 1844. We have yet to learn much else about Vision 2300, but chapter 11 explains it, plus a lot more.
