Modern Age prophecy

S6M2: Daniel 11

Daniel 11 expands Vision 2300 through verse 11:31 by adding more historical detail to the earlier prophecies. We do not present every verse here because it’s easy to read and research; the descriptions are clear. A full detailed reveal is also on our website. We focus in the book on our relationship and seeking inspiration, but we will visit a few examples.

Daniel 11:1-4, Gabriel continues from chapter 10, “And as for me, in the first year of Darius the Mede, I stood up to confirm and strengthen him. And now will I show thee the truth. Behold, there shall stand up yet three kings in Persia; and the fourth shall be far richer than they all: and when he is waxed strong through his riches, he shall stir up all against the realm of Greece. (King Cyrus of Media, Cambyses II, Smerdis, and Darius I are the other four kings in history). And a mighty king shall stand up (Alexander Maximus), that shall rule with great dominion, and do according to his will. And when he shall stand up, his kingdom shall be broken, and shall be divided toward the four winds of heaven (the four generals, Cassander, Lysimachus, Seleucid, Ptolemy), but not to his posterity, nor according to his dominion wherewith he ruled; for his kingdom shall be plucked up, even for others besides these” (no kingdom bloodline succession). In Daniel 11:1-4, Gabriel added historical details to the silver and bronze parts of the statue in Nebuchadnezzar’s dream.

Daniel 11:5-16 brings us to 196 BC and presents the actions of the Seleucid Empire in the north and Ptolemy’s empire in the south, mainly Egypt. Those are the two Greek generals that consolidated power after Alexander died. Seleucid’s empire is modern-day Syria and Turkey. Greece itself appears on the scene once the Roman Empire passes through it.

Daniel 11:5-16 identifies the Seleucid empire as the king of the north and Ptolemy’s empire as the king of the south. These two kingdoms annoyed each other for 120 years. Israel geographically separated them, so whatever they did to each other, they collided in and around Israel.

Daniel 11:16-30 brings in the Roman Empire up to the end of Vision 490. The Ptolemy empire in Egypt attracted the Roman Empire into the region to help defend against the Seleucid Empire. Seleucid had to move his troops to fight in the north which played a significant role in the Maccabee’s successful revolt against Antiochus Epiphanes.

Our Abba Father’s view of the Maccabee’s effort is in Daniel 11:14 KKJV, “. . . Also, violent men of your people (Daniel’s people, Israel) shall exalt themselves in fulfillment of the vision (Vision 2300), but they shall fall.” Vision 2300 is about the heavenly temple, not the second temple. The Maccabee effort freed the second temple from Antiochus, but the family signed a treaty with the Romans for protection and turned away from our Abba Father as their protector.

This passage is important to further interpretation. Daniel 11:23-25 NKJV, to 168 BC, “After coming to an agreement with him, he will act deceitfully, and with only a few people he will rise to power. When the richest provinces feel secure, he will invade them and will achieve what neither his fathers nor his forefathers did. He will distribute plunder, loot and wealth among his followers. He will plot the overthrow of fortresses, but only for a time.” Is that a prophetic “time,” 360 years?

This passage references Caesar Augustus winning the battle of Actium in 31 BC, defeating the famous Cleopatra, Queen of Egypt, and then plundering Egypt in 30 BC. That started the Pax Romana period of peace referenced in Daniel 8:25. Caesar Augustus distributed some of the plunder to the Roman citizens. The “time” reference has a historic match of 360 prophetic years. In 330 AD, Constantine moved the capital of the empire from Rome to Constantinople (Istanbul today) due to the unrest in the Western Region of the Empire (30 BC+330 AD=360 years.) The “but only for a time” led to the end of the unified Roman Empire in 476 AD. It fits with history.

The Heavenly War

This is where I begin to diverge from many scholars. The reason I believe end time interpretation is so difficult is because scholars in ELB refuse to look at the spirit world meanings of the earthly references. Daniel 11:31-39 transitions us from the earth’s history to the spirit attack on the heavenly side of Vision 2300. It also reviews the spirit war in Vision 2300, chapters 8-10. Our goal is to train our minds to see our Abba Father’s spirit world.

Daniel 11:31, “And forces shall stand on his part, and they shall profane the sanctuary, even the fortress, and shall take away the continual burnt-offering, and they shall set up the abomination that maketh desolate.” That is the time of Jesus, his crucifixion, and the destruction of Jerusalem. Enemy attacks on the saints are also attacks on the heavenly kingdom.

Daniel 11:32-35, “And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he pervert by flatteries; but the people that know their God shall be strong, and do exploits. And they that are wise among the people shall instruct many; yet they shall fall by the sword and by flame, by captivity and by spoil, many days. Now when they shall fall, they shall be helped with a little help; but many shall join themselves unto them with flatteries. And some of them that are wise shall fall, to refine them, and to purify, and to make them white, even to the time of the end; because it is yet for the time appointed.

This passage is about the apostles, disciples, and believers doing their job in the Family business after Christ, all the way to the end. I read this passage often because it fills me with our Abba Father. Evil surrounds me in my ministry, yet saints keep emerging from the fire. And they will to the end. Please give yourself that experience.

Daniel 11:36-39, these verses are the “little horn,” the church-state system in action, “And the king shall do according to his will; and he shall exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak marvellous things against the God of gods; and he shall prosper till the indignation be accomplished; for that which is determined shall be done. Neither shall he regard the gods of his fathers, nor the desire of women, nor regard any god; for he shall magnify himself above all. But in his place shall he honor the god of fortresses; and a god whom his fathers knew not shall he honor with gold, and silver, and with precious stones and pleasant things. And he shall deal with the strongest fortresses by the help of a foreign god: whosoever acknowledgeth him he will increase with glory; and he shall cause them to rule over many, and shall divide the land for a price.

That passage transitions the narrative from the literal earth history to metaphors and symbols. The “little horn” is a symbol of the church-state system, the Holy Roman Empireoly Roman Empireholll. That ends in 1789 but the enemy does not go away. From here on, the symbols are broad in meaning, not specific. That is how we find clarity in verses that otherwise make little sense.

The Time of the End v11:40-45

Daniel 11:40-45 is not long but incredibly profound to our faith. Vision 2300 ended in 1844. That concludes the earth season of our Abba Father’s plan and starts the heavenly season, the final phase until Jesus returns. Keep in mind, Daniel 8:13-14, “Then I (Daniel) heard a holy one speaking . . . “How long will the vision be (Vision 2300), concerning . . . the giving of both the sanctuary and the host to be trampled underfoot (the church-state system)?” And he said to me, “For two thousand three hundred days (prophetic years, 457 BC-1844 AD); then the sanctuary shall be cleansed.” That is the heavenly sanctuary that Jesus cleansed in 1844 to start the new season, the heavenly season, starting the “time of the end.”

The length of the last season, the time of the end, is a mystery. But only 174 years have passed since Vision 2300 ended. Traditional interpretation in ELB leaves us looking back over a 1,800-year void in the Scripture. I can’t believe our Abba Father left us hanging like that. Our interpretation brings us closer to our Abba Father because we see him working today in the Scripture. Daniel reveals that our world history is the interpretation.

Daniel 11:40, “And at the time of the end shall the king of the south contend with him; and the king of the north shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, and with horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter into the countries, and shall overflow and pass through.”

We can only understand that verse in the context of the new season with heaven. Daniel has shown us how much history our Abba Father packed into a few verses with time jumps in between. First, we must understand “the time of the end.” Conventional teaching in ELB puts it when Jesus returns. I see it is all the time after Vision 2300, i.e., 1844, to Jesus’ return. We live in “the time of the end.” The difference in meaning liberates us to interpret the Scripture with world history, as Daniel teaches us.

Daniel’s prophecies are continuous in history. The world changed after 1844 from the succession of world-dominant nations influenced by the enemy: the gold, silver, bronze, and iron in Nebuchadnezzar’s dream statue. No gap exists in Nebuchadnezzar’s statue; “the Dream” statue is a continuous solid until Jesus smashes it. The “feet and toes of iron and clay” continue in “the time of the end” until the appointed time when Jesus comes. Jesus returns at the “appointed time.

In ELB, we see the Scripture end in the first century. But it doesn’t. Like the Intertestamental Period, our Abba Father had Daniel write it. He walked us through Daniel in great detail about the world’s history. The Scripture validates Daniel up to after Jesus ascended. We have now lived through Vision 2300 and validated that. After 1844, Daniel shows us what to expect the world to be until Jesus returns. In other words, more history. Our Abba Father did not leave us with a 1,800-year absence; he is in the Scripture today.

The king of the south and north in v11:40 must be new references. They cannot be Ptolemy’s Egypt, the Seleucid Empire, or Rome from earlier verses. They are gone, but the enemy isn’t. The church-state system started with Clovis and the Francs (which became France) in 508. Clovis was the first to pick up a sword for the church-state system. It became official in 539, and France destroyed the church-state system in 1798, the end of Vision 1260.

France is the v11:40 king of the south, destroying the old king of the north (the church-state system), the first “him” in v11:40 referring back in time. It is strange to see France as the “king of the south” because we are only thinking of the earthly world. Ptolemy and Egypt were pagan kingdoms seeking power, and it makes sense that France, a very pagan nation, is the new spirit “king of the south” that destroyed the “little horn” and changed the world forever.

And then, the French Revolution destroyed the French monarchy, and that king of the south was gone again. Remember, the north and south kings were both the enemy’s work. The north king had the church and the enemy (the “little horn”). The kings of the south are about the enemy.

Our Abba Father had a purpose for earthly “kings” in Vision 2300; then, at the end of Vision 2300, he launched his spirit war with the enemy in heaven. And don’t forget that our US Constitution, “one nation under God,” was ratified in 1789 in the window of Vision 2300. Fasten your seatbelt.

We need to look at the world history after 1844. In 1848 Marx and Engels wrote the Communist Manifesto and all the significant monarchs started to fall. In 1867 Marx and Engel wrote Das Kapital. In 1914 we had WWI, and in 1917 the Bolshevik Revolution. We had WWII in the 1940s, and there was and still is a steady stream of confrontation among nations. That is all the enemy’s work gathering humans for his cause.

The fruit of the American and French Revolutions was nationalism, communism, fascism, socialism, materialism, atheism, evolution, and post-modernism. (And psychology, LOL). That is the transformed world after Vision 2300. The world in the time of the end is about individual nations against each other, and we are part of the holy war in modern times as our Abba father gathers believers.

The destruction of the church-state system in 1798 resulted in what we call today in ELB, the “New World Order.” We can see the enemy at work in the world with our own eyes. But in ELB, we miss it. Remember in Genesis 6; the world became so evil that our Abba Father destroyed it. The enemy does not give up; he leads the world in that direction again.

The new “king of the south” is the enemy in the New World Order, precisely as was Egypt and France without the church. The entropy of the New World Order is toward a single ruling group for the world. We pick that up in Revelation 13 as we see the end time revealed with a false trinity of the enemy.

So who is the new king of the north who comes “against him (the New World Order) like a whirlwind?” Let’s remember what the end is about, persecuting believers to accept the enemy as their god. What is the only country in the world where the enemy must destroy believers to win? That is the mark of the beast in Revelation 13. Our USA is the new king of the north. ELB all but eliminates that thinking.

The last line of v11:40, “the (new) king of the north shall come against him like a whirlwind . . . and he shall enter into the countries, and shall overflow and pass through.” Only one nation in the world fits that description, our USA. Look at all the wars we fought after 1844. Not one country became a possession of our USA; we “passed through” them all. Try and think of another country if you can.

Our USA is not a monolith; it has “two horns,” to use Daniel’s and Revelation’s metaphor. “We the people” own our government “under God.” And the enemy in our government is trying to persecute believers, consistent with previous kings of the north. And faithful believers are still doing their job in the family business.

We are in the “may the best god wins” war to the end that involves the entire world, but our USA is the center of the Scripture, not the earthly Palestine territory. Our treaty with Israel may link us, but until then, it is about our USA. Do you think our Abba Father would omit the leader of the free world entirely from the narrative? Let’s keep going.

Daniel 11:41 “He (new king of the north) shall enter also into the glorious land, and many countries shall be overthrown; but these shall be delivered out of his hand: Edom, and Moab, and the chief of the children of Ammon.” The “countries” reference is interesting because the word is not in the original Hebrew text here, and adding it in ELB destroys the interpretation. But seventeen translations get it right. The ESV, “He shall come into the glorious land. And tens of thousands shall fall, but these shall be delivered out of his hand: Edom and Moab and the main part of the Ammonites.”

Tens of thousands” of countries do not exist and never did. Removing “countries” from the translation leaves us with people as the subject. The “glorious land” here is not physical Israel. I see the “glorious land” as firm believers, i.e., spirit Israel. Our USA is part of the New World Order ruled by the enemy, and our government is pushing hard to remove our Abba father from our public life to cancel “one nation under God.”

Daniel mentions the “glorious land” four times:; back in v8:9 and v11:16 and twice in this chapter. The first two are the Palestine territory, but v11:45 below cannot possibly be physical, nor is the reference in v11:40. The last line of v11:41, “but these shall be delivered out of his hand: Edom, and Moab, and the chief of the children of Ammon.” That makes no sense in literal translation in the physical. The three nations border Israel; they are close to the truth, representing weak believers who our Abba father saves. Daniel tells us to keep working to bring others with us, i.e., us doing our job in the family business.

Daniel 11:42-43 “He (our USA king of the north) shall stretch forth his hand also upon the countries, and the land of Egypt shall not escape. But he shall have power over the treasures of gold and of silver, and over all the precious things of Egypt, and the Libyans and the Ethiopians shall be at his steps.

Going back in time, what was Egypt in Exodus? Egypt was a nation that defied our Abba Father. Egypt is now a metaphor for defiance of our Abba Father. Our USA controls the world banking system, the SWIFT system (gold and silver), and uses it for leverage. Libya and Ethiopia are smaller nations near Egypt representing agnostics, those not entirely with the enemy. Notice how our Abba Father captures everyone on one side or the other with the strong and the weak reference to each. There is no escape. V11:42-43 represent our government trying to control everyone and everything. That is the New World Order.

Daniel 11:44, “But tidings out of the east and out of the north shall trouble him, and he shall go forth with great fury to destroy and utterly to sweep away many.” We are now in the time of the mark of the beast in Revelation 18. Moab and Ammon are East and North of Israel and represent firm believers resisting the mark.

Daniel 11:45 “And he shall plant the tents of his palace between the sea and the glorious holy mountain; yet he shall come to his end, and none shall help him.” That verse makes no sense in the physical world. The “sea” is the nations and people of the world. The enemy plants himself between the people and our Abba Father, the “glorious holy mountain.” And the enemy loses.

Discussion

How does today’s Israel compare to what our Abba Father created? Today’s Israel is a parliamentary republic with political parties, and Arab parties are the third largest influence. The temple has been gone since 70 AD, and it is hard to see how physical Israel could play a significant role in the end, except for its sentimental value to our Abba Father. And yet, ELB wants all the focus on the Middle East with zero consideration of our USA.

The mark of the beast should be our focus for the time of the end, not the nation of Israel. We are starting to experience similarities to it now and failing miserably, especially during the COVID pandemic. So what is the mark of the beast? It is the sign of the enemy that backs believers into a corner. And our Abba Father comes to rescue us from the enemy. That is what matters the most to us, not the final battle. Believers are safe with Jesus when the final battle happens.

We saw how the enemy governed the world in the church-state system; we should look at how the enemy governs the world in the New World Order. We live in a time when the “New World Order” seeks to rule the world. The Progressive Movement in the USA works 24/7/365 to take away our liberty under the COTUS as one nation under God, and subject us to the New World Order.

I cannot think of another country in the world where challenging believers would cause a ripple compared to the USA. Picture religious freedom removed from the First Amendment in the COTUS. Is there any doubt a stacked Supreme Court filled with progressive judges wouldn’t do it? Nowhere else in the world is the right to be a believer protected in the governing documents. ELB does not want this thinking to take hold, so let’s keep going.

We have to get our heads and hearts around the heavenly realm. It must become real to us to experience the full joy and glory of our Abba Father. And we must see the USA with new eyes and hearts because it is where WE will experience the beast’s mark.
